Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt inthe progression from it to the full product?

Looking back at my preliminary task I realised how basic our know knowledge was and how we were unconfident to experiment with shots. For instance in our preliminary we were very fixed (didn't want to try anything risky) and has shots that didn't move which did not let the film move very smoothly. Compared to our coursework piece we were a bit more bold and tried to use and many different shots that we felt were relevant to try and create a smooth cuts.
Also a big thing that we have learnt creating our film was how to use the programmes more efficiently to get a much better result. We learnt how to cut and fade smoothly, how to add transitions, adding text, slugs etc.
Creating our coursework piece i have learnt how much effort, time and planning is needed to make a 2 minute film. For instance creating a storyboard after storyboard every time you realise that something does not work quite right. Therefore from this i have learnt that time keeping and planning is extremely important if i am trying to meet a deadline.
Another is working in groups more efficiently. In my preliminary we just grabbed actors that were on hand and just chose a time to film and hoped that everyone could do it. But when for instance we had to re-film some scenes we were very limited with time so we had to work together as a team to try and get the things we need to a good enough standard in the quickest time possible.
Another thing i learned was how to trick the audience. We did this in the horse scene where we had to try and make it look like the actors were riding the horse even though they were not. This was due to the horse miss behaving and for safety reasons we were not able to do what we had planned in the first place.
